Furly Privacy Policy
Furly ("the app") is made by 2April ("we", "us"). It is a pet-health companion for cats and dogs that builds a personalized vaccine, vet, and parasite-protection schedule, sends reminders, and tracks food. This policy explains what the app processes, why, and the choices you have. In plain terms: the app needs no account, your pets' information stays on your device, we collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and nothing you record about your pets is ever used to target ads. The free version does show a banner ad; Furly Pro removes ads entirely.
Your pets' data stays on your device
The information you enter — your pets' names, species, breed, birth date, weight, vaccine, vet and parasite records, appointments, food stock, health history, and any notes — is stored only on your device (in the app's local storage). It is not uploaded to us, not stored on our servers, and not shared with advertisers. Reminders for vaccines, appointments, and food are scheduled locally on your device.
What is processed off the device
An anonymous identifier for subscriptions
To check whether you have an active Furly Pro subscription, the app uses an anonymous identifier managed by our subscription provider (RevenueCat). It is not linked to your name, Apple Account, or Google Account, and is not used to track you across apps or websites.
Subscription information
If you purchase Furly Pro, the transaction is handled by Apple or Google and by our subscription provider (RevenueCat). We receive only whether your subscription is active — not your payment card, your pets' data, or your store-account details.
Update checks
On launch the app checks for app updates from Expo (our app-update service) and may fetch a small configuration file from our website host (Cloudflare). These requests do not send your personal information or your pets' information.
Advertising
The free version of Furly shows a banner ad through Google AdMob, inline at the end of the content on the Home and Pets screens. It is never pinned over the interface. There are no full-screen ads, no ads between screens, and no video ads. Furly Pro removes ads entirely.
To serve an ad, Google may process your device's advertising identifier, coarse information about your device (such as model, operating system version, and language), your approximate region derived from your IP address, and whether the ad was shown. We receive only aggregate counts of ads shown — never information about you. Your pets' records never leave your device and are not used to select ads.
On iOS the app shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, asking whether we may use your device's advertising identifier to personalise ads:
- If you allow it, Google may use the advertising identifier to select more relevant ads, which can involve linking your activity with data from other apps and websites — this is what Apple calls tracking.
- If you decline, or the prompt does not appear — which is the default — ads are non-personalised and no advertising profile is built.
In the EEA and the UK the app also asks for consent through Google's consent form before any ad is requested. You can reopen that form at any time in Settings → Ads → Ad privacy options. On your device you can additionally limit ad personalisation via Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising. Google's handling of this data is described in the Google Business Data Responsibility & Privacy notice.
Service providers
We share the minimum necessary with:
- Apple and Google — process payments and deliver the app.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status. See their privacy policy.
- Google AdMob — serves the banner ad in the free version. See Google's privacy notice.
- Cloudflare and Expo — host our update configuration and deliver app updates.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or browsing history. Your pets' information is never uploaded to us and is never used to select ads. We run no analytics SDK, we do not fingerprint your device, and we build no profile about you — the advertising data described above is handled by Google, and we hold none of it ourselves. There is no account to create.
Retention
Everything you enter stays on your device until you delete it in the app or remove the app. The anonymous subscription identifier remains until you delete the app or contact us to reset it.
Your rights
Because your pets' data lives only on your device, you are always in control of it: you can view, edit, or permanently erase it in the app (Settings → reset), or by deleting the app. For the limited subscription data processed by our providers, the rights below apply.
- EU / UK (GDPR): the lawful basis for the anonymous subscription identifier is our legitimate interest and the performance of your Pro purchase. Showing non-personalised ads rests on our legitimate interest in funding a free app; where ads are personalised, the lawful basis is your consent, given through the consent form and the tracking prompt and withdrawable at any time in Settings → Ads → Ad privacy options. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and object; we hold no name or contact details to identify you, so most requests are exercised directly in the app or via Apple, Google, and RevenueCat.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell your personal information for money. Where you allow tracking, Google may use your advertising identifier to personalise ads, which can count as sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising; declining the tracking prompt — the default — prevents it, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ads → Ad privacy options.
- Türkiye (KVKK): the data controller ("veri sorumlusu") is 2April. Your pets' data is processed only on your device; the limited subscription and advertising data is processed on the legal bases of contract performance, legitimate interest, and — for personalised ads — your explicit consent. You may exercise your rights under Article 11 by contacting us below.
Children
Furly is a general-audience app for pet owners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Where the tracking prompt is declined or unavailable — which is the default — ad requests are non-personalised and no advertising profile is built.
International users
The app is available worldwide. The limited data described above — including the advertising data handled by Google — may be processed by the providers listed on servers outside your country.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date on this page.
