MindCheck Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using MindCheck ("the app"), made by 2April, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

IMPORTANT MEDICAL DISCLAIMER: MindCheck does NOT provide medical diagnoses. The app offers mental health risk screenings for informational purposes only. Results do not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider with any questions regarding a medical condition.

1. Nature of the service

MindCheck provides self-administered mental health screening questionnaires across 10 areas (ADHD, Autism Spectrum, Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Trauma/PTSD, Bipolar, Sleep Issues, Substance Use, and Learning Difficulties). The app:

Provides risk level assessments (Low, Moderate, High) based on user responses
Does NOT diagnose any medical or psychological condition
Does NOT replace professional clinical assessment
Uses original screening questions, not licensed clinical instruments
Recommends professional consultation for all risk levels

2. Intended users

The app is intended for:

Adults (18+) screening themselves
Adolescents (13–17) screening themselves with parental awareness
Parents/guardians screening children (ages 2–17)
Close relatives or friends completing observer reports

The app is rated 12+ due to its health-related content.

3. In-app purchases

Screenings are free to complete. Viewing each screening result requires a one-time consumable in-app purchase. Consumable purchases are non-refundable once the result has been viewed, except as required by applicable law or App Store/Play Store policies.

4. Accuracy and limitations

While MindCheck's screening questions are based on clinical screening frameworks, the app has important limitations:

Results are indicative, not definitive
Accuracy depends on honest and thoughtful responses
Screenings cannot account for the full complexity of individual circumstances
Risk levels are based on statistical thresholds and may not reflect individual clinical significance

5. Crisis situations

MindCheck is not a crisis intervention tool. If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health emergency, suicidal thoughts, or is in immediate danger, please contact:

6. Data and privacy

All data is stored locally on your device. No personal information is collected or transmitted. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

7. Intellectual property

All content in MindCheck, including but not limited to screening questions, text, design, and code, is the intellectual property of 2April and is protected by applicable copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content without written permission.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

MindCheck is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that results will be accurate for any specific individual or purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MindCheck and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, health outcomes, or data, arising from the use or inability to use the app.

10. Changes to terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
